trackback
Most folks across the state don’t even realize there are primary elections today, making it ripe for the WEAC and liberal school boards to pass just a modest amount of Wisconsin School Bond Referendums today…………………….
Well maybe modest if you consider $64 Million dollars spare change.
There are about 11 school referendums today, most are referendums to raise the revenue caps for a period of a few years. Earlier in April, voters rejected many bonds and revenue cap measures because of an unease about the economy and sinking home and property values. However, one bond, the $23 Million dollar Rhinelander School construction and new pool referendum seems to have a second life after being rejected back on April 1st.
With a few public meetings in place, virtually no updated website, and a B&W flier, this bond could make it today. The Rhinelander Superintendent of the board of education claims that the bond referendum wouldn’t raise taxes because the new bond would replace expiring debt. However, when a government entity replaces debt with more debt, the board’s right, it might not raise taxes.
However, what’s so bad about lowering taxes? Just maybe, citizens of Rhinelander will sieze the moment.
Keep a close watch on election results from Milk and Cheese.
